Terms
Terms of Service
The short version: be kind, own your content, and don't abuse the service.
Effective date: September 4, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using the ChalIt app or website (together, the “service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. The service
ChalIt helps you create, follow and track personal challenges, optionally together with other people in private circles. Features may evolve — we may add, change or remove functionality over time.
3. Accounts
- You can use the service without an account; some features (such as syncing) require one.
- If you sign in with Google, you are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent.
- Don't harass, pressure or spam other people, including in shared circles.
- Don't try to access other users' data, disrupt the service or circumvent its limits.
- Don't copy, resell or reuse parts of the service to build a competing product.
5. Your content
Your challenges, goals, notes and card designs are yours. To run the service, we need your permission to store and process that content and to sync it across your devices — nothing more. You are responsible for the content you create and share.
6. Third-party services
The service relies on Google Play, Firebase (authentication, database, notifications, analytics and crash reporting) and, optionally, Google Sign-In. Your use of those services is also subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy.
7. Availability
We work hard to keep the service available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We may change or discontinue parts of the service; if we ever shut it down entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data where feasible.
8. Ending these terms
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time (see Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put the service or other users at risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the ChalIt developer is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost data or lost profits arising from your use of the service.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
